LEADING TRADE FAIR ORGANISER IN THE BALTIC STATES

Children’s World 2024 successfully concludes with lots of interested visitors and fascinating events

After two days filled with plenty of positive emotions and events, on 28 April, Ķīpsala International Expo Centre closed its doors behind the last visitor of Children’s World 2024, which was an absolute success. Festivities at the Children’s Land, flurry of games at the Adventure Park, Tuta, Lotte, chipmunks and other friends, rescue servicemen at the Safety Quarter, free high-level specialist consultations for parents, new and unique children’s products and services attracted 12,176 visitors to Ķīpsala International Expo Centre.

Little visitors were most attracted and entertained by a whole host of exciting activities from 28 different artists and artist collectives who performed at the Children’s Land. Young fans of Tuta had a special surprise in store – an opportunity to meet Tuta, Fenecca and the Fox from their favourite TV series Tuta’s Things who came to Ķīpsala to fill the expo pavilions with everyone’s favourite, cheers and children’s laughter. Children’s excitement was also palpable when fairy-tale pixie performed her bubble show and famous magician Valdemārs took the stage to show his magic tricks, also involving the volunteers. Not to mention the merry-go-round built by Ivars Mailītis that gave excited children a real joyride.

Ilze’s puppets and puppet show and Zumba lesson with Rolands Bartaševics also drew in large crowds, while little artists gave everyone an opportunity to dance and sing along. Baby crawl race, which took place for the first time in Children’s History was absolutely hysterical.

It turns out that modern children have not lost love for books. It was obvious looking at the excited faces of children who intently listened to fairy-tales read by local celebrities like Superbingo presenter Armands Simsons, ice-hockey player Jēkabs Rēdlihs, singer Liene Šomase and event moderator Reinis Maskava. “Pasaku Nams” creative team succeeded in creating a truly festive atmosphere at the Children’s Land.

Children were also very interested in “Smilšu lampas” creative sensory activities, “Rotaļnīca” workshops and Adventure Quarter that offered an opportunity to jump around and enjoy various bounce houses, mini BMX, mazes and other fun activities.

Everyone’s favourite Safety Quarter gave children an opportunity to meet friendly policemen, firemen, medics and electricians who taught children various safety rules through exciting games. Children specifically enjoyed climbing into service vehicles, trying on protective gear and different equipment, while parents were keen to refresh their first aid skills for infants and minors together with EMS paramedics and instructors from the Latvian Red Cross.

Maternal and baby health and well-being consultation rooms were also part of the Children’s World for the third year in a row. 126 visitors decided to make an appointment with chosen specialist to get the much-needed advice for young mums and parents. Free consultations were provided by Veselības centrs 4 and its Children’s Health Centre art therapist Ingrīda Zvēra, Capital Clinic Riga and certified physiotherapist Kristīne Ridere, career guidance and development, and transformational breathing coach Rudīte Nīcgale, doula and breastfeeding consultant Inga Babure, doula Kristīne Reikmane and certified postnatal fitness coach Santa Vula.

Meanwhile, young mums, parents and other visitors could freely roam around the expo pavilions to learn more about diverse products, test them, compare them and make their decisions as to which ones to buy. 89 exhibitors had arrived for the expo to showcase the new baby prams, car seats, furniture, clothes, athletic goods and other children’s products and their collections, as well as hygiene products, developmental games for families, and all kinds of other services. Visitors could also get the expert advice on which items need to be purchased before a baby is born, insurance products for minors and other interesting topics.

Local brands like Troll Smiltene, Tiny Bunny, Hebe, Paade Mode, Bencha Muude, Joy of Nature, TranaKids, MPA Fortius, Happy Moon, Berzins Woodwork and many other Latvian clothing, furniture and toy brands made a strong presence at the Children’s World, bringing lots of high-quality, creative and environmentally-friendly options.

But that was not nearly all! Visitors of Children’s World were also keen to venture into the other pavilion of Ķīpsala Expo Centre that hosted a parallel expo, the Garden and lifestyle 2024 trade show, which offered an opportunity to buy various plants and lots of useful or long-coveted items for garden and home.
