The cooperative society Latvian Dairy Committee (LPCS) in cooperation with the International Exhibition Company BT 1 and the Latvian Packaging Association announces and organizes a competition for dairy products produced in Latvia, as well as a competition for dairy packaging produced in 2019/2020. The winners will be awarded at the Riga Food fair on 9 September.
This year, the competition for Latvian dairy products will determine the best in the following categories: skimmed milk curd with fat content up to 0.5% and the 2019/2020 new dairy product and the 2019/2020 packaging for a new dairy product.
The competition for Latvian dairy products will be held for the twenty-fourth time, and it has received a significant response from dairy farmers, as well as the appreciation of professionals and gourmets. Participation in the competition provides Latvian dairy farmers with a great opportunity to show their creative ingenuity in creating both innovative products and new tastes. Every product manufacturer tries to surprise consumers with something new by showing the variety of dairy products.
“The competition for dairy products has become a tradition for both dairy producers and a large proportion of consumers, especially those who follow news and product quality. One of the most important tasks of LPCS is to promote Latvian dairy products in society, as well as to certify their quality and natural origin. This is a great opportunity for companies to make the new product more familiar in the short run. I hope that this opportunity will be used both by those who participate in the competition every year and by new participants. This year, we will evaluate the new dairy products by both tasting and analysing the functionality of the packaging, conformity of the material, ecology, sustainability, design and labelling. Good luck to everyone!” tells the chairman of the Latvian Dairy Committee Jānis Šolks.
